On Tuesday and Wednesday, Apple's chief operating officer Jeff Williams (Jeff Williams) visited Apple's production sites and automation equipment suppliers in Suzhou and Changsha, including a Lixun Precision factory in Suzhou that assembles the iPhone 16 series, according to Xinhua News Agency.
According to Williams, over the past 5 years, Apple has invested as much as 20 billion dollars in smart manufacturing and green manufacturing in China.
The chief operating officer said that since he first visited China with Apple in 1998, he was surprised that the situation had changed so much. Production was still very simple at the time.
“Today, as I walked through the production line, I saw the level of complexity and automation. “I am impressed by the progress made,” Williams said in an interview with Xinhua News Agency. “Some of the most advanced automation in the world is taking place in China.”
