① A consortium formed by China Energy Construction Group and Japan's Mitsubishi Electric Power successfully won a contract for the Al Wahda power plant of about 0.595 billion US dollars; ② This power plant will become the largest power plant in Morocco.
Finance Association, October 24 (Editor Li Lin/Intern Editor Chen Yujia) A consortium formed by China Energy Construction Group China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) and Japan's Mitsubishi Power (Mitsubishi Power) successfully won an EPC contract for a power plant worth 0.59 billion Moroccan dirhams (about 0.595 billion US dollars).
China Energy Construction Group has been actively expanding the Middle East and North Africa market in recent years. For example, in August of this year, the consortium that the company participated in won the Saudi PIF Phase IV Haden 2GW PV project EPC contract, with a contract value of 0.972 billion US dollars.
This time, the Sino-Japanese consortium will be responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the 900 megawatt (MW) Al Wahda power plant.
The consortium will be responsible for the construction of a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant in the city of Lmjaara in Morocco's Uzan province. The power plant will be the largest power plant in Morocco, and is also Morocco's third CCGT project after the 400MW Tahadat Power Station and the 450MW Ain Beni Metar Power Station.
Winning the bid marks another important breakthrough in cooperation between China Energy Construction Group and Mitsubishi Electric Power in the field of international power construction. It also demonstrates the consortium's strong strength and rich experience in the construction and operation of large-scale power plants.
As the Al Wahda power plant project progresses, Morocco's electricity supply capacity will be further enhanced to provide a more stable and reliable energy guarantee for local economic and social development.
