On the news front, recently, Shanghai Electric Power Group successfully won the bid for the complete set of main equipment orders for the mechanical and electrical furnace of the 2×1000MW coal-fired power generation project in Yuezhou, Hunan invested by Xiangtou Energy. The project is located in Yueyang County and plans to build 2 units of 1 million kilowatt ultra-supercritical coal-fired generator units along with supporting auxiliary, office, and living facilities. It will concurrently construct flue gas desulfurization, denitrification, and dust removal facilities. This is a large-scale coal-fired power project that is scheduled to start construction during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and achieve initial production in the 15th Five-Year Plan period in Hunan Province, and also the first coal-fired power project after the establishment of the Hunan Energy Group. It holds significant importance for the local thermal power layout and planning. The project is planned to be completed and put into operation in the first half of 2027.
