Oracle Strengthens IoT Offerings With Vodafone's Global Connectivity Solutions

Benzinga ·  Nov 5 20:11

Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) is strengthening its collaboration with Vodafone Group Plc (NASDAQ:VOD) Business IoT to provide global IoT connectivity for customers using Oracle's Enterprise Communications Platform (ECP) applications.

Leveraging Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's high performance and security, ECP employs edge architecture to deliver seamless connectivity and near real-time data intelligence, enabling critical new services for businesses.

The platform leverages Vodafone's Global SIM for cellular connectivity, enhancing Oracle's diverse industry applications.

This integration enables industries to manage and connect IoT devices, facilitating a new wave of cloud-based services.

The combination of Oracle's ECP and Vodafone Business IoT's connectivity introduces capabilities like embedded AI, secure device lifecycle management, connection management, and advanced media routing and conferencing.

Erik Brenneis, CEO Vodafone Business IoT, said, "This collaboration will help customers to expand their operations and accelerate on a global scale with compliant connectivity in over 180 countries worldwide. We look forward to our ongoing partnership with Oracle, where we can connect more customers in more countries."

Andrew Morawski, executive vice president and general manager, Oracle Communications commented, "By expanding our long partnership with Vodafone and bringing its extensive global network reach and IoT expertise together with Oracle's, wide-ranging portfolio of industry suites, we can help create new ways to delight customers and deliver new revenue streams."

Last month, Oracle disclosed its plan to pursue qualification as a Qualified Health Information Network (QHIN) under the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA).

Oracle Health's network will provide a centralized, secure gateway for healthcare data exchange, streamlining information sharing among hospitals, clinics, and insurers.

Investors can gain exposure to Oracle through Pacer Funds Pacer Data and Digital Revolution ETF (NYSE:TRFK) and First Trust NASDAQ Technology Dividend Index Fund (NASDAQ:TDIV).

Price Action: ORCL shares are up 0.29% at $170.08 premarket at the last check Tuesday.
