Toda Corporation <4100> announced that it will virtually exhibit three products and technologies in the field of CO2 measures at the Japan Pavilion to be held in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, during the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change 29th Conference of Parties (COP29) from November 11 to 22, 2024.
COP (Conference of the Parties) is the abbreviation for an international conference where 197 countries that are parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change discuss frameworks to prevent global warming. It has been held almost every year since 1995, and this year marks the 29th meeting. The Japan Pavilion, hosted by the Ministry of the Environment, aims to showcase Japan's excellent technology and initiatives to the world.
The company recognizes that addressing environmental issues is an unavoidable and important challenge for a chemical manufacturer to continue its operations. In order to promote the reduction of environmental impact and the safe management of chemicals, they have formulated an 'Environmental Vision' based on the concept of 'sustainability.' Within this 'Environmental Vision,' they have set specific numerical targets such as reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions such as CO2 and are promoting the reduction of environmental impact and the safe management of chemicals. In this exhibition, they will introduce three products: 'Combustion catalyst,' 'CO2 solid recovery material,' and a technology that generates 'CO2-free hydrogen and CNT.' The exhibited products and technologies focus on reducing GHG emissions, producing new energies, and useful materials, aiming to contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality.
