Sources say that some of President-elect Donald Trump's key advisors support Scott Bessent, the head of the macro hedge fund Key Square Group, as the best candidate for Treasury Secretary.
Trump has not made a decision yet, nor has he offered this position to any candidate. However, sources suggest that Bessent's contributions during the campaign have earned Trump's respect, including fundraising efforts, assisting in crafting economic speeches, and drafting policy proposals.
Bessent's spokesperson declined to comment. The Trump team did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
