CAYCE, S.C. (Nov. 13, 2024) – With cooler temperatures around the corner, Dominion Energy South Carolina is reminding small businesses that may be struggling financially to apply for assistance with their energy bill.
EnergyShare for Small Businesses offers qualified businesses, nonprofits, and houses of worship across its service area up to $2,500 in one-time financial assistance for their Dominion Energy South Carolina electric bill. The two-year pilot program is administered in partnership with the United Way Association of South Carolina.
"EnergyShare offers a helping hand to the small businesses that play such a vital role in our neighborhoods and across the communities we serve," said Keller Kissam, president of Dominion Energy South Carolina. "We are proud to partner with the United Way to connect businesses across the Palmetto State with the help they need when they need it most."
Eligible businesses must:
- Receive electric service from Dominion Energy South Carolina.
- Have an active business account and license to do business in Dominion Energy South Carolina's service territory.
- Be considered a small general service customer as determined by Dominion Energy South Carolina on a qualifying rate.
- Employ 50 or fewer people as of Jan. 1, 2024.
- Have arrears equal to or more than $300, plus current charges.
- Be a house of worship, an independently owned and operated for-profit business or a nonprofit business that holds a 501(c)(3) status.
EnergyShare is also available for residential customers. The program is designed to help seniors, persons with disabilities and income-eligible customers with electric and/or natural gas services. To apply for assistance, contact a local Community Action Agency listed on DominionEnergy.com.
