Japanese ADR (American Depositary Securities) stocks rose and fell in comparison with the Tokyo Stock Exchange (converted to 1 dollar 155.37 yen), Japan Post (6178), ITOCHU Corporation <8001>, Honda Motor Company <7267>, Mizuho Financial Group <8411>, Toyota Motor Corporation <7203>, Terumo <4543>, Advantest <6857>, etc. rose and fell, and general buying dominance became dominant. The Chicago Nikkei 225 futures settlement value is 38,970 yen, which is 320 yen higher than the day in Osaka.
The US stock market is mixed. The Dow average closed at 43,958.19 dollars, up 47.21 dollars, and the NASDAQ fell 50.66 points to 19,230.74. Since the October Consumer Price Index (CPI) matched expectations, buying took precedence with a sense of security, and it stayed steady. At the same time, since additional interest rate cut observations at the December Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) were strengthened in response to CPI, the market price continued to rise. The Dow remained strong throughout the day, but the NASDAQ stalled towards the end of the game, turned into a decline, and ended.
The dollar and yen fell to 154 yen 34 yen in the New York foreign exchange market on the 13th, then rose to 155 yen 62 yen, and closed at 155 yen 51 yen. Since the US October Consumer Price Index (CPI) almost matched expectations, additional interest rate cut observations at the December Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) intensified, and dollar sales became dominant as long-term interest rates declined. After that, President Logan of the US Dallas Fed mentioned upward inflation risks, and US St. Louis Federal Bank President Musalem also showed a moderate interest rate cut forecast depending on the data, so dollar buying resumed when interest rates stopped falling. The euro dollar rose to 1.0653 dollars, then fell to 1.0556 dollars and closed at 1.0564 dollars.
NY crude oil futures for the 12-month period are slightly higher (NYMEX crude oil 12-month closing price: 68.43 ↑ 0.31).
