Nippon Steel Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Nippon Steel), along with five companies in the Nippon Steel Group (Nippon Steel Engineering Co., Ltd., Nippon Steel Stainless Steel Co., Ltd., Nippon Steel Building Materials Co., Ltd., Nippon Steel Pipeline & Engineering Co., Ltd., and Geostar Co., Ltd.), will exhibit at the "Advanced Construction, Disaster Prevention, and Disaster Reduction Technology Fair in Kumamoto 2024" to be held at the Grand Messe Kumamoto on November 20 (Wednesday) and November 21 (Thursday). (Organized by: Advanced Construction, Disaster Prevention, and Disaster Reduction Technology Fair in Kumamoto 2024 Executive Committee / Constructed by: Kumamoto Prefecture, Kumamoto City, and General Incorporated Association Regional Industries Activation Association).
In Kumamoto Prefecture, which has been exposed to the severe impact of natural disasters such as the Kumamoto Earthquake in April 2016 and the heavy rain in July 2020, this technology fair, which began as an exhibition to contribute to the recovery and reconstruction from natural disasters and the construction of a rich, safe, and secure social infrastructure, is now in its 6th edition.
From the Nippon Steel Group, we will propose technologies that not only prepare for natural disasters with resilient and eco-friendly steel, but also respond to current issues such as labor shortages and the need for shortened construction periods.
Furthermore, Nippon Steel, with the theme of providing value to diverse challenge-solving needs such as national resilience, productivity improvement, and the promotion of carbon neutrality, launched the construction solution brand "ProStruct" in 2022 and is expanding the "steel materials x utilization technology" package. At this technology fair, various technologies such as hat-shaped steel sheet piling and gyro press construction method will be introduced under this concept. Nippon Steel has also set forth the "Nippon Steel Carbon Neutral Vision 2050" as its unique measure for achieving a carbon-neutral society by 2050, launching the "NSCarbolex" as a product and solution technology contributing to reducing CO2 emissions across society, tackling the reduction of CO2 emissions as its most critical business challenge.
