Uni-Charm Corporation (President and CEO: Takaharu Yoshihisa) conducted the "Actual Condition Survey of Urinary Leakage Care Specialty Products Market" in time for "International Men's Day" (November 19). As a result, it was found that about 1 in 5 men are troubled by urinary leakage. This time, we report part of the survey results.

The urinary incontinence care specialty product market has been expanding year by year. When comparing the scale from the time our company launched the 'Lifree Fresh Pad for Men' developed exclusively for men in 2014 to this year, 2024, it has expanded by about nine times.
However, compared to women, who commonly use urinary incontinence care specialty products, men know about these products but often feel resistance to picking them up in stores, which results in low usage.
Therefore, a survey titled 'Survey on the Actual Situation of the Urinary Incontinence Care Specialty Product Market' was conducted with the purpose of understanding the actual situation of those who are using these products.

On the other hand, the usage rate of specialized female urinary incontinence care products is 46%, indicating that nearly half are addressing the issue.
Considerations of the survey
From the results of this survey, it was found that nearly half of the women who experience urinary incontinence use care products, while the usage rate of specialized male urinary incontinence care products remains around 20%. This can be attributed to the fact that many women have a habit of addressing issues with menstrual products, whereas men do not have an ingrained habit of seeking care, and they may feel resistance to picking up care products in stores.
