After cutting off the supply of henry hub natural gas to Austria, Russia is reselling it to other european countries.

Global market report ·  Nov 17 08:12

Gazprom, the Russian natural gas company, confirmed that it will still suspend natural gas deliveries to Austria on Sundays, but the daily total supply through Ukraine (the main transit route for Russian natural gas to the European Union) will remain at 42.4 million cubic meters, roughly the same as the daily supply over the past year.

By the deadline, Austria has received 17 million cubic meters of natural gas and is looking for new buyers in Europe.

The Slovak state-owned company SPP stated that they are still importing natural gas from Russia and mentioned that other companies are buying more natural gas, as Europe is still "very interested" in Russian natural gas.

An insider familiar with the Russian natural gas supply situation in Europe stated that Russian natural gas is still cheaper than many other sources, so the natural gas originally intended for Austria is quickly being resold to other European countries.

Austria has indicated that they have sufficient natural gas reserves to compensate for the shortage, and in the future may import through Italy or Germany.
