Signed a partnership contract with MLB Houston Astros.
The name of the home stadium will be 'Daikin Park' starting in 2025.

Daikin Industries, Ltd. unsponsored adr's usa subsidiary, Daikin Comfort Technologies North America, Inc. (hereafter referred to as DNA), has obtained the naming rights for the home stadium of the Houston Astros, a major league baseball (MLB) team (currently Minute Maid Park), and signed a partnership agreement to name it "Daikin Park." The contract period is for 15 years, from January 1, 2025, to the 2039 season. This marks the first time a Japanese company has acquired naming rights for an MLB team's home stadium. Moving forward, the company aims to contribute to the Houston community through education and regional programs in cooperation with the team.
Based in Houston, Texas, which boasts the fourth largest population in the usa, the Houston Astros are a team in the American League West, founded in 1962. In recent years, they have won the World Series in 2017 and 2022, and have experienced numerous league and division championships, making them known as a strong team in MLB. The 2024 season will feature player Yusei Kikuchi, and in the past, several Japanese players, including Norichika Aoki (2017) and Kazuo Matsui (2008-2010), have excelled with the Astros.
Focusing on air conditioning, Daikin has over 22,000 employees across the usa as a whole. The core subsidiary in the usa, DNA, invested about 0.5 billion dollars in 2017 to establish the largest air conditioning production base in North America, "Daikin Texas Technology Park," located near Houston, developing and producing residential and commercial air conditioning units and heating equipment, providing approximately 10,000 jobs in the Houston metropolitan area.
Through this sponsorship, Daikin aims to enhance its recognition among people in the usa, particularly in Houston, as well as among Astros and MLB fans, and desires to become a company deeply rooted in the local community. Additionally, Daikin will widely share its vision of balancing economic value with environmental and social value through advanced air conditioning technology.
