The 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition held in Zhuhai has attracted unprecedented attention domestically and internationally. This air show not only showcased numerous advanced aircraft and aerospace technology, but also became a focal stage for the emerging field of flying cars. Several domestic car companies presented their self-developed flying cars, showcasing the latest achievements in this field, indicating that the low-altitude economy will experience significant growth potential.

Xiaopeng Huitian's 'Land Aircraft Carrier' project will start pre-sale in December this year, with a unit price not exceeding 2 million yuan. The flying car developed by Guangzhou Automobile Group is expected to obtain the Type Certificate (TC) in 2026, and complete the airworthiness certification in 2027. The composite wing modular flying car jointly developed by Chery Group and Tsinghua University's School of Vehicles and Transportation made its debut at this air show. In addition, companies such as Volocopter and Zero Gravity Aircraft Industry showcased their self-developed eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft), revealing their future commercial application plans.

The rapid development of flying cars not only relies on technological breakthroughs, but also requires policy support and market recognition. Currently, the field of flying cars is facing a unique situation where technology and products are ahead of regulations, lacking precedents globally, with minimal certification basis and standards. Therefore, companies are actively cooperating with civil aviation authorities to promote the airworthiness certification of flying cars.

Imotionautotech (01274.HK) announced this year that the company has received a 'Designated Development Notice' from a well-known domestic flying car company, to provide an integrated automatic driving solution including the core iDC 500 automatic driving controller hardware and software.

Chongqing Changan Automobile's subsidiary Harbin Dongan Auto Engine announced that the world's first split-type flying car project, the Xiaopeng Huitian flying car project, is equipped with Dongan Auto Engine for mass production initiation.

Zhejiang Wanfeng Auto Wheel stated on February 20th on the investor interaction platform that the Wanfeng Diamond eDA40 pure electric aircraft successfully completed its first flight in 2023, expected to be certified by EASA in 2024. This aircraft model, mainly for flight training purposes in the trainer aircraft market, is expected to become the world's first commercially operated electric aircraft after certification.

Sunward Intelligent Equipment stated on March 18th on the investor interaction platform that the prototype of the mass air mobility project engaged by its subsidiary Shanhe Xinghang will be released in mid-2022, with the first flight scheduled by the end of the same year.
