Japan Airlines ·  Nov 19, 2024 23:00

JAL has applied to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for the international cargo fuel surcharge originating from Japan, which will take effect on December 1, 2024. Based on the average price of jet fuel in October 2024 being 87.80 USD per barrel, the fuel indicator price will be set between "85.00 and 90.00", and the surcharge will be 62 yen per kg (for long-distance routes to the Americas and European Index), 37 yen (for long-distance routes to Asia), and 33 yen (for short-distance routes to Asia).
JAL has set the revision period for the Japan international cargo fuel surcharge to be 12 times a year (monthly). The surcharge amount for each month will be determined according to the following table, which was introduced in April 2024 and is based on the average value of jet fuel (kerosene) traded in Singapore in the month before the previous month.
JAL will strive to provide stable cargo transportation services while making every effort to help themselves.
