On the 19th, Nex Group <6634> announced that its subsidiary Nex's OBD2 telematics data terminal "GX700NC" has been adopted by Iwate Information Technology's "Oga Bus".
Iwate Information Technology provides bus location services for kindergartens, children's facilities, after-school facilities, and boards of education, with "Oga Bus" being offered as part of that service.
"Oga Bus" does not require labor-intensive installation work, and in addition to being able to set a shorter notification period to the server compared to other products, it has been praised for utilizing vehicle data obtained from OBD2 to identify areas where caution must be taken in driving, such as instances of sudden acceleration or sharp turns in the past.
GX700NC is compatible with the main LTE frequencies in Japan, NTT Docomo/KDDI/SoftBank's LTE frequencies, and it boasts the highest level of versatility in terms of the number of data that can be obtained from compatible car models and OBD2. In terms of GNSS functionality, it supports GPS, Glonass, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS systems, improving positioning stability in urban areas or mountainous areas with limited visibility due to buildings or trees by using more satellite positioning systems. Additionally, with the introduction of the enhanced feature version that started in July 2024 and utilizes IZatTM functionality, it is expected to reduce positioning time and improve positioning accuracy even in places where satellite reception is challenging (such as under bridges) with terminals installed in buses with low windshield slopes or in traditional weak spots for satellite positioning like underground parking lots.
