Fisco Japan ·  Nov 21 02:54

The number of gains and falls of the Nikkei Average constituent stocks at the time of the big closing on the 21st was 1 stock unchanged, 65 stocks with price increases and 159 stocks with price drops.

The US stock market on the 20th was mixed. The Dow average rose by 139.53 dollars to 43408.47 dollars, and the NASDAQ closed at 18966.14, down 21.33 points. The continued existence of geopolitical risks was warned by reports that Ukraine had launched British-made long-range missiles into Russian territory, and after being close, it fell. Director Bowman of the Federal Reserve (Fed) showed a hawkish stance that progress in inflation had stagnated, and sales continued to fall disgusted by the rise in long-term interest rates. However, ahead of the financial results announcement of NVIDIA, a semiconductor whose trend is attracting attention as driving the market price, the Dow was bought back until the end of the transaction, and it began to rise. The NASDAQ also reduced its decline, but it was unable to recover the positive zone, and it ended in a mixed situation.

According to NVIDIA's financial results for the fiscal year ending August to October, which were announced after 6:00 Tokyo time, sales were 35.082 billion dollars, which exceeded market expectations of 33.162 billion dollars. Also, adjusted earnings per share were 0.81 dollars, which exceeded market expectations of 0.75 dollars. Meanwhile, it indicated that sales for the fourth quarter would be 37.5 billion dollars. Although it exceeded market expectations of 37 billion dollars, NVIDIA's stock price after the announcement fell temporarily by about 5% due to overtime trading after closing due to slight upward movements, etc.

The Tokyo market began trading with small movements, but since semiconductor-related sectors such as Advantest <6857> and DISCO <6146> widened the decline in response to NVIDIA's financial results announcements and trends in overtime transactions, etc., the Nikkei Average slowly widened the decline. There was also a scene where 38,000 yen was cut at one point. However, bank stocks such as megabanks generally rose due to expectations of additional interest rate hikes by the Bank of Japan, etc. While TOPIX was relatively solid, the Nikkei Average avoided a sharp drop and got into a fight at the 38,000 yen level.

The closing Nikkei average was 38026.17 yen (-0.85%) lower than the previous day by 326.17 yen. The trading volume on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market is 1.6 billion 80.05 million shares, and the trading price is 3 trillion720.7 billion yen. By industry, while mining, precision equipment, retail, land transportation, machinery, etc. declined, only the three sectors of nonferrous metals, banking, and textiles rose. Stocks that have risen in price on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market are 44%, while stocks that have dropped in price are 51%.

The top contributor to price drops became Fast Rette <9983>, which pushed down the Nikkei Average by about 105 yen with 1 stock. Advantest <6857> came in the same 2nd place, followed by SoftBank G <9984>, TDK <6762>, Sony G <6758>, Nittepec <6988>, and Toelec <8035>.

Meanwhile, the top contributor to price increases became M3 (2413), which boosted the Nikkei Average by about 4 yen with 1 stock. FANUC <6954> came in the same 2nd place, followed by Daikin <6367>, Keyence <6861>, Suzuki <7269>, Sumitomo Electric <5802>, Dentsu Group <4324>, etc.
