Betamek Berhad said it had accepted a government grant of RM396,420 from the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development, managed by Malaysia Industrial Development Finance Berhad for its digital transformation project.
The grant it said will enable the group to enhance its Overall Equipment Effectiveness through advanced IoT integration within its manufacturing operations over a 12-month period. The project aims to automate manual assembly line monitoring, integrate OEE data from Surface Mount Technology ("SMT") machines for comprehensive analytics, and benchmark productivity against robotic lines to improve capacity for the growing electric vehicle (EV) demand, while allowing Betamek to stay at the forefront of digital advancement with the support of the government.
Encik Muhammad Fauzi Bin Abd Ghani, Executive Director of Betamek, commented, "Securing this government grant is a significant milestone for Betamek, as it enables us to drive our digital transformation agenda forward. By integrating IoT technology into our manufacturing processes, we can improve our OEE, enhance productivity, and deliver higher-quality infotainment and electronic solutions at more competitive prices. This initiative also supports our goal of expanding into the ASEAN market, leveraging our advanced capabilities to meet regional demand."
