Nio today put 10 new battery swap stations into operation in China, bringing the total to 2,702 as it celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Nio's (NYSE: NIO) signature battery swap stations surpassed 2,700 in China as the company celebrated its 10th anniversary.

The 2,700th Nio battery swap station went live today in Karamay, Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker announced today.

Today marks Nio's 10th anniversary, and the company's founder, chairman, and CEO William Li celebrated the occasion earlier today in a post on the Nio App.

Nio today put 10 new battery swap stations into operation in China, bringing the total to 2,702, 895 of which are located along highways, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

As of today, Nio has provided a total of about 58.5 million battery swaps in China.

The Chinese EV maker is also in the process of building battery swap stations in overseas markets, although the currently available stations are located in Europe.

To date, Nio has 58 battery swap stations in Europe, including 20 in Norway, 19 in Germany and 10 in the Netherlands.

On November 22, Nio announced that it had reached 100,000 battery swap service counts in Europe.

Nio completed its first battery swap station in Shenzhen on May 20, 2018. Throughout 2023, the company added more than 1,000 stations.

It unveiled its fourth-generation battery swap station at its last Nio Day event on December 23, 2023, and announced a goal of continuing to add 1,000 stations in 2024 in China.

But now it looks like that goal will be delayed. As of today, Nio has added 386 battery swap stations in China so far this year, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
