According to reports, a government source said that the Japan Fair Trade Commission conducted an on-site inspection of Amazon Japan on Tuesday on suspicion of violating anti-monopoly laws. The source said that Amazon Japan, a subsidiary of Amazon, is suspected of inappropriately pressuring sellers to lower prices on its e-commerce website in exchange for favorable positions of their products on the site.
