At San Aqua TOTO Co., Ltd., a special subsidiary of TOTO Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, President: Noriaki Kiyota), jointly established with Fukuoka Prefecture, Kitakyushu City, and TOTO, employees of San Aqua TOTO Co., Ltd. participated in the 44th National Skills Competition for the Disabled (National Abilympics) and won the silver award in the 'computer data entry' event.

The National Abilympics is a competition where people with disabilities compete in skills they have cultivated in their daily workplaces. It has been held annually since 1972, except for international competition years, to improve vocational skills, deepen understanding and awareness of people with disabilities among companies and the general public, and promote their employment. The 44th tournament was held from November 22 (Fri) to 24 (Sun) at the Aichi International Exhibition Center, with 398 players who won the preliminaries from all over the country participating. They competed in 25 events, including DTP, computer programming, and cafe services.

From San Aqua TOTO, one participant competed in the 'product packaging' and 'computer data entry' events, and Yasunori Tokuno, who participated in the 'computer data entry' event, won the silver award. This marks his second consecutive win following last year's bronze award.

TOTO is promoting the 'Common Value Creation Strategy TOTO WILL2030,' focusing on 'clean and comfortable, healthy,' 'environment,' and 'connections with people' as important issues to work on. Aimed at creating a company where diverse talents gather, work with peace of mind, can challenge actively, and will continue to work towards this goal.

Sun Aqua TOTO

Sun Aqua TOTO was established in 1993 as a special subsidiary of the third sector jointly funded by Fukuoka Prefecture, Kitakyushu City, and TOTO. In February 2023, it celebrated its 30th anniversary of foundation. The initial group of working colleagues, which was about 40 people, has now grown to 146 people, with 92 employees with disabilities. Its main business is the assembly of internal components such as faucet fittings and sanitary ceramics under the 'TOTO' brand. In March 2020, it acquired the 'JIS' certification and has been working on creating products to deliver directly to customers. In addition, its colorful exterior design has been recognized, winning the '21st JIA 25-Year Award*3'. Internally, great efforts have been made to create an environment where everyone can work lively, safely, and securely by incorporating various designs such as high ceilings, wide corridors, and multiple washbasins of varying heights.
