President Biden of the usa stated on Thursday that he hopes former President Trump reconsiders his plans to impose tariffs on Mexico and Canada, saying it could 'mess up' relationships with close allies.
'I hope he reconsiders. I think doing so would be counterproductive,' he said in Nantucket. 'The situation for us in the usa is unusual, as we are surrounded by the pacific, the atlantic china welding consumables,inc. and two allies: Mexico and Canada. The last thing we want to do is start undermining those relationships.'
Trump stated on Monday that he would impose tariffs on Canada and Mexico until they suppress drugs and border immigration, a move that seems to violate the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum stated on Thursday that she did not specifically discuss tariffs during her conversation with Trump on Wednesday and added that both agreed that the two countries would maintain a good relationship.
