Amazon Invests $2b in Singapore to Expand Services in 2023

Amazon invested over $2b in 2023 in its retail and cloud businesses in Singapore.

The U.S. firm said the investment encompassed capital expenditure such as improvements to existing infrastructures, including fulfillment centers, delivery stations, and data centers, and operating expenditure towards technology, safety, expansion of programs for customers, delivery partners, small and medium businesses, and employee compensation.

It also supported over 10,000 indirect jobs, including 4,000 in construction, logistics, and professional services, and 6,000 generated by local businesses selling on Amazon.
