Koikeya, with the cooperation of Kanazawa City and Kanazawa College of Art and Crafts, has developed “Koikeya Pride Potato Japanese Art of Gods Kanazawa Sweet Shrimp,” which conveys the deliciousness of the representative seafood of Kanazawa, the sweet shrimp, nationwide, along with the culture of Kanazawa spun by the history of Kaga Hyakumangoku. The seasoning uses dried and powdered "Kanazawa sweet shrimp," boasting one of the top landings in the country, enhancing the sweet and savory taste of the melting sweet shrimp with salt from a flat pan, resulting in a rich flavor. This year, by adopting Koikeya Pride Potato's unique "addictive endless manufacturing method," the deliciousness that further enhances the taste of the sweet shrimp has been realized.
As part of the 5th-year initiative, following last year, students from Kanazawa College of Art and Crafts have expressed the charm of Kanazawa through package design. From the designs created, a total of approximately 24,000 votes were cast by elementary school students in Kanazawa and everyone nationwide, and two new designs inspired by "Kaga Embroidery" and "Mizuhiki" were decided through the "Pride Potato Japanese Art of Gods Kanazawa General Election," where the design for commercialization was determined by a general vote.
* The design selected by a general vote (1 design) and the design selected by Koikeya (1 design) are combined to create two designs for commercialization.
In launching the "Koike-ya Pride Potato Japan's Divine Skill - Kanazawa Sweet Shrimp," we aim to contribute to the promotion of Kanazawa's culture, enhancing people's hearts and lives. Part of the sales of this product will be donated to the "Kanazawa City Cultural Promotion Project" and the "Kanazawa College of Art and Craft Education Research Fund." Additionally, this year, in addition to donations to Kanazawa City and Kanazawa College of Art and Craft, a portion of the sales will also be donated to Ishikawa Prefecture, which is working on the recovery from the Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
"Please enjoy the 'Koike-ya Pride Potato Japan's Divine Skill - Kanazawa Sweet Shrimp' packed with the divine skills of Kanazawa's food and culture."
