Background

We have strategically collaborated with AWS in the mobility, finance, and retail sectors in the past. This time, in order to support the acceleration of DX and business transformation for more customers, we are expanding the collaboration between the two companies to all industries.

As we approach 2030, the target year for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we are promoting "Fujitsu Uvance" to contribute to the realization of a sustainable world by aiming for the business growth of our customers and the resolution of social issues. In "Fujitsu Uvance", we aim to derive unprecedented solutions and insights by integrating the technology and various industry expertise we have cultivated over the years to connect processes and data that were previously fragmented across industries.
To achieve this goal, it is essential to break away from legacy systems and strategically utilize the cloud through collaboration with partners.

Overview of cooperation

1. Strengthening support for migration to AWS cloud services
   In the cooperation announced in March 2024, the strategic targets were mainframes and UNIX servers running core systems, in addition to various systems, on AWS cloud services. Both companies will strengthen support for migration to AWS cloud services. By leveraging Fujitsu's "Fujitsu Cloud Transformation Service" for flexible and high-quality infrastructure construction, and "Fujitsu Cloud Managed Service" for cloud operation optimization (Note 2), along with technical support for Fujitsu from AWS solution architects, cloud-optimized system integration and operation support services will be provided as a one-stop service.
2. Enhancing value through the collaboration of "Fujitsu Uvance" offering and AWS
   With a focus on realizing a rich and sustainable society through "Trusted Society" and supporting customers' data-driven strategies through "Digital Shifts", we aim to develop and enhance the offering of "Fujitsu Uvance" in collaboration with AWS cloud services, expanding its global provision.
   As part of these initiatives, we have started collaborating between the offering of "Digital Shifts", our AI service "Fujitsu Kozuchi", and AWS's AI service "Amazon Bedrock". For example, utilizing the data and AI operation platform "Fujitsu Data Intelligence Premium" to analyze factory production line data, detect warning signs of risks using AI, propose countermeasures based on past cases, and convert past inspection reports into reusable structured data to pass on knowledge of equipment maintenance operations. By integrating years of business knowledge and cutting-edge technologies such as generative AI, we support the efficiency and operational rate improvement of customers' production processes.
   This initiative will be showcased at our booth at the AWS global conference, "AWS re:Invent 2024", held in Las Vegas, USA, from December 2 (Monday).
3. Strengthening delivery capabilities through training AWS cloud service holders
   Targeting our engineers responsible for system development using AWS cloud services, we will further expand the current largest number of approximately 7,000 AWS certification holders to around 12,000 with strategic training support from AWS over the next 3 years. By strengthening professionals in system development with AWS cloud services, we will accelerate the delivery of systems to achieve customers' DX. With these efforts, aiming to double the number of orders, including strengthening joint proposals, to more than 800 based on the results of the past 3 years.

Roles of Fujitsu and AWS

• Fujitsu
  Leveraging expertise in customer base and system development across a wide range of industries, we will approach enterprise and mid-market customers. We support customers' DX through modernizing legacy systems, cloud migration and operation support, as well as offering Fujitsu Uvance business model based on social issues.
• Amazon Web Services
  As part of joint proposal activities for customers, AWS strengthens technical support for Fujitsu through solution architects, supporting the evaluation of architectures optimized for advisory and cloud services utilizing the latest AWS services such as AI generation. It also provides the latest technology, specialized knowledge, development environments, sales and marketing support to Fujitsu, as well as training and support towards obtaining AWS certification.
