Sunway TES is strengthening its foothold as the leading accounting provider in Malaysia after its Johor campus, Sunway TES College Johor Bahru (JB), signed several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with several prestigious accounting firms to enhance educational experiences and expand professional development opportunities.

Among the firms who signed the MoUs, the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), who is joining as a suite holder, will be opening its first office in Malaysia.

"We are glad to partner with Sunway TES College to launch our first ISCA office in Malaysia. With the strong bilateral relationship between Singapore and Malaysia, initiatives such as the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone help to facilitate a mutually beneficial and thriving business environment in both countries. We are confident that together, we can nurture and cultivate a steady and sustainable talent pipeline," ISCA Chief Executive Officer Fann Kor said.

She added that by developing a skilled workforce through joint educational and corporate initiatives, it supports the economic growth of JB, benefitting both the local community and businesses.

Apart from ISCA, renowned firms including EY, KPMG, PwC, BDO, Grant Thornton and Baker Tilly will also establish corporate suites within the Sunway TES College JB campus, creating an excellent platform for industry-academia collaboration.

"EY is excited to partner with Sunway TES to nurture the next generation of accounting professionals in Johor.

"By combining Sunway TES College educational expertise with EY's industry experience, we are committed to equipping aspiring professionals with the skills, integrity, and vision needed to succeed in an evolving industry — and to shape the future with confidence," EY Partner & Principal (Audit) Lee Ming Li said.

Meanwhile, Sunway TES CAE Founder and Sunway College Managing Director Professor Teo Ee Sing said the initiative will provide students with valuable opportunities to connect with industry experts,

participate in workshops and explore emerging trends such as sustainability in accounting.

"At Sunway TES College JB, we are driven by a shared vision of excellence and innovation. Our continued success in partnership reflects our commitment to nurturing future leaders and paving the way for academic and professional achievements.

"Together, we aspire to set new benchmarks in education and create lasting impacts in the community," Professor Teo said, adding that Sunway TES College JB aims to amplify its impact through this new partnership, producing exceptional graduates and creating opportunities to shape future industry leaders.
