Markets Closed Mixed as S&P 500, Nasdaq Hit Record Closes

Markets closed mixed on Tuesday with S&P and Nasdaq taking home record closes again.  

At 4:03 p.m. ET, the $Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)$ closed off 0.17%. The $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$, ended up  0.05% and the $Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US)$ closed 0.41% higher.  

Big Tech stocks were among the strongest performers in the Dow Tuesday afternoon.

$Apple (AAPL.US)$, $Amazon (AMZN.US)$ and $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ all rose in afternoon trade. amid the Dow closing in the red.

Will they or won't cut rates again? Fed-funds futures indicate traders see a 74% chance of another 0.25 percentage point cut later in the month, up from 59% last.

Oh yea, remember Bitcoin? Prices are around $95,000, off about 5% from its recent all-time high.

Cyber Monday hit record sales, thanks to U.S. consumers using their mobile devices for shopping. According to Adobe Analytics, US consumers spent a total of $13.3 billion on Monday, up 7.3% from 2023.

After the close,  Salesforce, Marvell Technology, Pure Storage, Okta, Box Inc., and Couchbase will report earnings.
