The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra began pre-sales in China at the end of October at a price of RMB 814,900 ($112,110), with an official launch set for March 2025.
A new regulatory filing has revealed the battery and range information for the Xiaomi (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY) SU7 Ultra, which is set to go on sale early next year.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is powered by a battery pack with a capacity of 93.7 kWh and is capable of delivering a range of 520 kilometers, 555 kilometers, 600 kilometers, or 630 kilometers, according to a catalog published yesterday by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
The model weighs 2,360 kilograms and the battery pack weighs 638 kilograms, according to the catalog of new energy vehicle (NEV) models that are eligible for a reduction or exemption from vehicle purchase tax.
This means that the battery pack has an energy density of about 147 Wh/kg.
Xiaomi announced on October 29 that the SU7 Ultra became available for pre-order in China at a price of RMB 814,900 ($112,110), nearly four times the regular SU7's RMB 215,900 starting price.
The model's official launch will be in March 2025, the smartphone maker said on October 29.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra made it into a regulatory filing catalog released by MIIT early last month, revealing its length, width and height to be 5,070/5,115 mm, 1,970 mm and 1,465 mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.
The dimensions are larger than the regular SU7 sedan, which measures 4,997 mm, 1,963 mm, 1,455/1,440 mm in length, width and height, and has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.
The SU7 Ultra will be powered by lithium ternary batteries supplied by CATL, according to last month's filing catalog. The regular SU7 uses batteries from BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) and CATL.
Xiaomi founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun said on October 29 that the SU7 Ultra is Xiaomi's "Dream Car" for himself and more performance-minded drivers.
The SU7 electric sedan was officially launched on March 28 and is available in three variants -- Standard, Pro, and Max -- with starting prices of RMB 215,900, RMB 245,900, and RMB 299,900, respectively.
In November 2024, SU7 deliveries continued to exceed 20,000 units, the second consecutive month over the 20,000 mark, Xiaomi said on December 1, without revealing specific figures.
Xiaomi EV is confident of reaching its new delivery target of over 130,000 units for this year, it said.
Xiaomi EV's initial sales forecast for 2025 given to its supply chain is 360,000 units, according to a report by local media outlet 36kr on December 3.
The forecast is just a preliminary reference for car companies and supply chain preparations, and will be changed and adjusted according to the actual situation, the report noted.
