UEM Edgenta Partners With JBPM To Strengthen Malaysia's Disaster Response

UEM Edgenta Berhad has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) to establish a Mutual Disaster Relief Team. This collaboration aims to enhance disaster preparedness, improve emergency response capabilities, and strengthen recovery efforts nationwide.

The MoU was signed by Datuk Ts Nor Hisham Mohammad, Director General of JBPM, and Razman Ismail, Chief People Officer of UEM Edgenta.

The partnership will focus on joint training programmes, workshops, and simulations to improve technical expertise in disaster response.

UEM Edgenta volunteers from Edgenta Infrastructure Services will work closely with JBPM, undergoing rigorous training to support disaster relief efforts in West Malaysia. Initiatives include emergency drills, fire simulations, and technical courses aimed at optimising resource coordination and protecting lives during crises.

Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of UEM Edgenta, Syahrunizam Samsudin, emphasised the importance of collaboration in building a safer and more resilient Malaysia. Datuk Ts Nor Hisham echoed this sentiment, highlighting the critical role of public-private partnerships in improving disaster management frameworks.
