Axiata Requests For Suspension Pending Announcement Possibly Related To Indonesian Operation
Earlier, Axiata Group Bhd's shares rose 3.4% early Friday following the group's Q3 earnings annoucement which reported a net profit of RM976.67 million compared to a net loss of RM797.41 million in the corresponding quarter last year. 
In a Bursa filing dated Dec 11, Axiata Group Bhd requested for the trading suspension of its shares effective from 9am, pending the release of a material announcement that could be related to the group's Indonesian operation.

Axiata and Indonesian conglomerate PT Sinar Mas has reached an agreement to consolidate its telecommunications operations in Indonesia, local media reported today quoting Bloomberg's earlier report on Tuesday.

Revenue, however, declined 5.6% year-on-year to RM5.32 billion, from RM5.62 billion recorded last year due to stronger ringgit against regional currencies.
