On December 10, 2024, Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") and its wholly owned subsidiary in Singapore, "K" Line Pte Ltd (hereinafter referred to as "KLPL"), conducted a response drill assuming a large-scale marine disaster together with K Marine Ship Management Pte. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "KMSM"), a ship management company also based in Singapore. This drill was conducted under the assumption of a marine accident involving an Aframax tanker managed by KMSM and operated by KLPL. The drill was conducted based on the scenario where the vessel, while anchoring at Kikuma Port in Japan (Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture), suffered an engine failure and ran aground, leading to an oil leak and injuries to the crew. KLPL established an accident response headquarters, discussed responses with KMSM, and confirmed the emergency response framework, including coordination and information sharing with internal and external stakeholders.

For maritime companies, safe operation is the top priority, and continuous and thorough efforts are required. In the medium-term management plan, "Safety and Ship Quality Management" is positioned as a strength of our group. The group will continue to contribute to society through daily efforts in safe operations while preparing for unexpected situations through large-scale accident response drills.
