RBC Capital issued a Research Report indicating that the content of a presentation released by Mobileye Global during an investor event in Munich may suggest that the company is about to win a contract.
According to Zhitong Finance APP, RBC Capital issued a Research Report stating that Mobileye Global (MBLY.US) revealed in a presentation during an investor event in Munich that it may be about to win a contract.
Analyst Tom Narayan stated that a slide in the presentation may indicate that the company is about to receive a nomination from a Japanese Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Another slide indicated that the next nomination phase is labeled "2-3 months." It also includes a European OEM that might be approaching a contract nomination regarding Surround ADAS technology. The USA OEM is considered to be in the negotiation and decision-making phase, the Analyst added, which comes prior to the nomination step.
Narayan noted that although a formal contract has not yet been obtained, the stage that this Japanese OEM is in may suggest it is about to award one. He added that in dialogues with investors, the primary concern is whether Mobileye will announce the OEM contract for its driving assistance system SuperVision.
Narayan stated that they do not expect an agreement to be announced during the event, but the possibility that the company is close to finalizing an agreement is a positive factor.
Analysts believe that the four Japanese Original Equipment Manufacturers that may be involved are Honda (HMC.US), Toyota (TM.US), Nissan (NASNY.US), and Mazda (MZDAY.US). The Analyst stated that securing an agreement with Honda or Toyota could be significant, considering their sales volumes.
A Honda spokesperson commented in an email: "We do not discuss our supplier relationships and will not comment on such speculation."
RBC Analysts are questioning whether the American OEM in negotiations could be General Motors (GM.US), while the European OEM nearing an agreement related to Surround ADAS might be Stellantis (STLA.US) or Renault (RNLSY.US).
General Motors stated in an email declaration: "We will not engage in rumors and speculation."
Before the release of this report, Mobileye, Toyota, Nissan, Stellantis, and Renault did not respond to requests for comments.
