1. Company Overview
Under the Task Center of "Creating a pleasant future with data," the company provides solutions in the fields of marketing and urban development by utilizing real behavioral data and AI to visualize real spaces. The company accumulates flow data that does not identify specific individuals through the patented Real Behavioral Big Data Platform "Beacon Bank" in China, North America, and Japan, and offers three services to customers: "Analysis & Visualization," "Behavioral Change," and "One to One." The flow data is accumulated through the use of Bluetooth beacons that acquire location data when a user enters the beacon signal range (a small device that transmits Bluetooth signals) and GPS that captures intermittent location data of users. Specifically, the location data obtained through a smartphone app that incorporates the company's "Beacon Bank SDK (Software Development Kit: packages programs, APIs, and specifications needed for software and web service development)" is accumulated in the Real Behavioral Data Platform "Beacon Bank" and analyzed by the company's proprietary AI group.
The data that the company analyzes is vast, processing over 84 billion logs monthly obtained from 0.42 billion app users (about 120 apps incorporated with the company's "Beacon Bank SDK") and 2.17 million beacons. The ability to analyze such a large and comprehensive flow data set is one of the competitive advantages of the company's services. Additionally, the company also practices privacy compliance. When obtaining information through an app that incorporates the SDK, the company rigorously ensures to get prior consent from users and to clarify the methods for users to refuse data consent, enabling transparent information collection and accumulation. Furthermore, during data analysis, they employ innovative statistical processing methods to accumulate and analyze information. To eliminate the possibility of identifying specific individuals, they implement methods such as statistical data transformation and the concealment of small sample sizes, focusing on enhancing safety.
Even in today's highly developed digital age, 90.6% of consumption is still due to real purchases in the physical world (2023 Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry). On the other hand, data collection, accumulation, organization, analysis, and utilization in the physical world are still not sufficiently implemented. In that sense, the areas where the company can contribute its business in the future can be said to be vast, and there is significant potential for growth.
The company defines a world where optimal information is provided based on real-world data according to the situation of general consumers as "Environmental Intelligence," stating that "instead of people consciously operating computers, IoT devices are omnipresent in the 'ambient' environment surrounding people, naturally providing necessary information by intelligently sensing the situation, and maintaining a safe and secure environment with intelligence that supports living.
