Markets closed lower on inflation data and falling tech stocks, with the Dow dropping 200 points and the Nasdaq leaving its record 20,000 behind.
At 4:01 p.m. ET, the $Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)$ fell 245 points, off 0.56%. The $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ was 0.56% lower and the $Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US)$ fell 0.66%, dropped below 20,000 to 19,902.
For the Dow, it endured its sixth consecutive day in the red. This represents its longest losing streak since April 15, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
Five companies negatively impacted the S&P 500 on Thursday, according to FactSet data: Adobe Inc. (down 12.5%), Alphabet Inc. (down 0.8%), Broadcom Inc. (down 2.8%), Home Depot Inc. (down 1.5%), and Nvidia Corp. (down 1.8%).
After the bell, $Costco Wholesale Corp (COST.CA)$ and $Broadcom Inc (AVGO.CA)$ will report earnings.
