Fisco Japan ·  Dec 13, 2024 02:30

On December 13, the TSE Growth Market 250 Index Futures remained unchanged from the previous trading day at 630 points. The high was 631 points, the low was 624 points, and the daily trading volume was 2131 contracts. The Dow Jones Industrial Average on the US market on the previous day, December 12, fell for six consecutive days. Concerns about an unexpected acceleration in the November Producer Price Index (PPI) led to a decline shortly after the opening. Selling sparked by unexpectedly weak employment-related indicators and a drop in the managed healthcare company UnitedHealth (UNH) weighed down the Dow further. The Nasdaq continued to decline amid concerns over rising long-term interest rates. As the session progressed, the stock market expanded its losses. Today, the TSE Growth Market 250 Index Futures started unchanged from the previous trading day at 630 points. The December Bank of Japan Tankan showed an improvement in business sentiment for large companies in the Manufacturing sector for the first time in two terms, while the Non-Manufacturing sector deteriorated for the first time in two terms. On the other hand, with expectations that the Bank of Japan will refrain from raising interest rates at the monetary policy meeting on December 19, the yen strengthened, leading to conflicting sentiments in the market. In the afternoon, while price movements continued around the previous day's closing price, firmness was displayed during weaker moments, and trading concluded at the day's high of 630 points. In the TSE Growth Market, leading stocks such as GENDA (9166) and Timee (215A) rose.
