Simply Wall St ·  Dec 14 19:20

Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the Shougang Century Holdings Limited (HKG:103) Chairman, Fanrong Su, recently bought HK$440k worth of stock, for HK$0.44 per share. Nevertheless, it only increased their shareholding by a minuscule percentage, and it wasn't a massive purchase by absolute value, either.

Shougang Century Holdings Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Notably, that recent purchase by Fanrong Su is the biggest insider purchase of Shougang Century Holdings shares that we've seen in the last year. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at above the current price of HK$0.42. It's very possible they regret the purchase, but it's more likely they are bullish about the company. To us, it's very important to consider the price insiders pay for shares. As a general rule, we feel more positive about a stock if insiders have bought shares at above current prices, because that suggests they viewed the stock as good value, even at a higher price.

In the last twelve months Shougang Century Holdings insiders were buying shares, but not selling. The average buy price was around HK$0.39. These transactions show that insiders have confidence to invest their own money in the stock, albeit at slightly below the recent price.
