MIDLAND HOLDING (01200) rose over 9% after its profit warning, reaching a price of 0.8 Hong Kong dollars as of the time of writing, with a transaction volume of 0.5797 million Hong Kong dollars.

According to the Zhitong Finance APP, MIDLAND HOLDING (01200) rose over 9% after its profit warning, reaching a price of 0.8 Hong Kong dollars as of the time of writing, with a transaction volume of 0.5797 million Hong Kong dollars.

In terms of news, MIDLAND HOLDING released a profit warning based on its preliminary review of the unaudited consolidated management accounts for the 11 months ending November 30, 2024, indicating a pre-tax profit exceeding 0.35 billion Hong Kong dollars and a net profit attributable to equity holders exceeding 0.3 billion Hong Kong dollars. According to the group's current data, compared to an estimated net loss of approximately 42 million Hong Kong dollars for the year ending December 31, 2023, it is expected that the group will report a net profit attributable to equity holders for the year ending December 31, 2024.

The expected turnaround from loss to profit is mainly based on the performance of the subsidiary 'MIDLAND PROPERTY' and 'Hong Kong Property' businesses, which showed significant improvement in operational performance for the 11 months ending November 30, 2024, compared to the same period last year. This improvement is primarily due to successfully capitalizing on the rebound in the Hong Kong residential property market in 2024; the group's stable market share in Hong Kong; optimization of operational efficiency; and the implementation of a series of strategic measures since the last quarter of 2023, including promoting a new sales management team and a series of new measures (including re-aligning its business model and streamlining operations), leading to a turnaround from loss to profit for the group's business in mainland China.
