コーセー、「D&I AWARD 2024」にて 準グランプリを初受賞 ~同時に、最高ランクの「ベストワークプレイス」に初認定~

Kose was awarded the Semi-Grand Prix for the first time at the "D&I AWARD 2024" and was simultaneously recognized as the highest-ranking "BEST Inc Workplace" for the first time.

KOSE Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazutoshi Kobayashi) has recently received the “D&I AWARD 2024,” the largest award in Japan that certifies and awards companies working to promote diversity and inclusion (hereafter, D&I) in the workplace, for the first time. At the same time, it obtained the “Best Workplace” certification, which is the highest in the D&I initiative promotion certification rank (4 levels) based on the same award. This is also our first certification.

JobRainbow Co., Ltd., the organizer of the “D&I AWARD 2024,” focused on the five fields of “gender,” “LGBTQ+,” “disability,” “multicultural coexistence,” and “childcare/nursing,” and conducted a survey to visualize the efforts of companies that respect employee diversity. It is an award where efforts to promote diversity by companies and organizations active in Japan are scored using a unique evaluation index “diversity score,” and 4 levels of certification are made according to the score. Also, the D&I AWARD and D&I AWARD (SEMI-GRAND PRIZE) will be awarded to companies that have high scores and are making efforts to serve as role models for society. In 2024, 710 domestic companies (value announced by the organizer) participated in the award.

The Group has set the theme “Supporting social opportunities” to provide opportunities for everyone to play an active role regardless of position or characteristics as one of the key issues in the medium- to long-term vision “Vision for Successful Beauty Partner*1.” To achieve this, we introduced a partnership system*3 that takes diverse genders into consideration in 2024 through a sustainability strategy*2 and a personnel strategy that maximizes human capital, and carried out educational activities using the “KOSÉ DE&I*4 Handbook.” Also, our sole 2024 childcare leave utilization rate for men and women is currently trending at 100% *5.

Going forward, based on the idea that “diversity is the source of innovation,” we will promote both fostering a culture where all employees understand the importance of DE&I and designing a personnel system where employees with rich personalities can play an active role, and work to create workplaces where diverse human resources can play an active role while respecting each other's diverse values and creating results.
