Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) was awarded the highest rating of "BEST WORKPLACE for Diversity & Inclusion" (certification score: 81-100 points) at the "D&I AWARD" *1, which certifies companies committed to diversity and inclusion, on December 18, 2024, marking four consecutive years of receiving this recognition. DNP achieved its highest score ever, with 96 points.
The "D&I AWARD" evaluates companies' D&I-related initiatives across a wide range of 100 metrics by establishing five criteria: "Gender," "LGBTQ+," "Disability," "Multicultural coexistence," and "Childcare/Caregiving," using five elements: "Action Declaration," "Education/Understanding Promotion," "Human Resource System," "Community," and "Work Style." Based on the responses from each company, 1 point is assigned per metric, resulting in a certification score ranging from 1 to 100, and companies are recognized as either "Beginner," "Standard," "Advance," or "Best Workplace." DNP has been recognized as a "Best Workplace" for four consecutive years.
DNP continually identifies challenges, such as the gap between company policies and the realities of individual workplaces, and strives to resolve them. This year, particular focus is being placed on resolving issues related to "LGBTQ+," "Disability," and "Multicultural coexistence." Going forward, DNP will continue to respect each individual’s "differences" and leverage them as strengths to create new value. *2
■Examples of initiatives aimed at problem-solving: Disability Inclusion Community "Hot Work"
The DNP Group established an online Disability Inclusion Community called "Hot Work" *3 in 2024, which allows all employees to participate. Currently, over 200 members are participating, providing a space where dialogue can occur safely, regardless of disability.
Within the community, members share ideas for alleviating job-related fatigue caused by various disabilities, methods for remembering steps in challenging tasks, and videos related to reasonable accommodations *4 in the workplace. By communicating personal approaches and learning how others respond, this contributes to creating an environment where "everyone can work comfortably." Additionally, not only people with disabilities but also employees with family members who have disabilities participate, reducing concerns through information sharing, allowing them to focus more on their work. Future plans include collaboration with other companies' communities to further advance these initiatives.
