Background of the acquisition of "ISO 14001" certification
In the medium to long-term ESG goals "Kyo-sei Life Vision 2030" announced in October 2020, the company declared its aim to "provide sanitary and convenient products and services while contributing to activities that improve the global environment," and has established five key initiative themes under the title "Protecting and Supporting the Health of the Earth," developing various initiatives to achieve these themes.
In line with these initiatives, each group corporation is advancing the acquisition of the international environmental management system certification "ISO 14001," and UCB's activities this time are part of that effort. Meanwhile, the status of our "ISO 14001" certification acquisition is 74.2% as of the end of November 2024 (Japan 76.9%, Overseas 72.2%).
"Contributing to the 17 Goals of SDGs through the acquisition of ISO 14001 certification."
The company believes that this initiative contributes to the 17 goals set forth in the "Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" adopted by the United Nations in 2015, as outlined below.
12. Responsibility to create and use 15. Let's protect the richness of land
We will continue to aim to contribute to the achievement of SDGs by solving environmental issues and social issues through business activities such as providing products and services.
