ST Engineering's Urban Solutions business has secured contracts worth $180m for metro infrastructure projects in Bangkok, Thailand.

The projects involve the deployment of a communications system, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, and AGIL Platform Screen Door (PSD) solution for the 35.9-kilometre MRT Orange Line.

The communications system will leverage advanced networking technologies to ensure timely data transmission, facilitating efficient operations and predictive maintenance. Meanwhile, the SCADA system will enable real-time monitoring and control of metro operations.

ST Engineering Urban Solutions will also provide over 500 sets of full-height PSDs and more than 160 sets of half-height PSDs for the 21 underground stations and seven elevated stations on the Orange Line.

The Orange Line, which connects eastern and western Bangkok, is expected to serve approximately 400,000 daily passengers when fully operational in 2030.
