The Kuisu factory, where the mass production system of Revia has been established, has long been responsible for sash production and possesses advanced resin extrusion technology. It is also located in the Chubu region, which has the second largest amount of waste plastics following the Kanto region, making it suitable for waste plastics procurement. With the start of production at the Kuisu factory, which specializes in resin extrusion technology and is appropriate for waste plastics procurement, stable quality and mass production will be realized, as well as acceleration of further new product technology development.
The Revia production equipment introduced this time is equipment that carries out the process of finely grinding difficult-to-recycle waste plastics and the process of extrusion molding.
Hiroaki Shishido, head of the Revia Division at LIXIL Housing Technology, commented as follows.
"Revia", which addresses the social issue of waste plastics, can only contribute to its primary goal of reducing environmental burden if used in many places. More than two years after its release, it has already been adopted in various locations, but with an aim for further expansion, the mass production system at the Kuisu factory will Start. In addition to its use in construction materials, including the paving material "Revia Pave", we will strive to develop a stronger and more stable ecosystem that ranges from the procurement of used plastics to recycling, production, sales, construction, and collection again, aiming for a wider product lineup and further impact creation.
LIXIL will continue to contribute to the realization of a resource-circulating society that maximizes the use of limited resources and connects to the future through innovations including "Revia".

■Circular material "Revia"
LIXIL has established a technology that allows for the fine crushing and extrusion of different materials without sorting various types of Plastics, enabling the effective utilization of almost all waste Plastics that were previously considered difficult to recycle, such as composite Plastics. Comparing the CO₂ emissions generated during the production of 1 ton of Revia with the CO₂ emissions when the same amount of waste Plastics or waste wood used for Revia is incinerated shows a reduction of 82% (1.93 tons) in CO₂ emissions. (The calculation process has been certified by a third-party organization.)
Revia, which creates new value from waste plastics, addresses the global challenges of low recycling rates and environmental pollution caused by waste disposal after use, and contributes to the realization of a circulatory society.
