OCBC Bank Named Malaysia's "Bank of the Year" For Second Year

OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Bhd has been named Malaysia's "Bank of the Year" by London-based The Banker for the second consecutive year. The award recognises banks that demonstrate growth, profitability, technological investment, and community involvement. In addition to this achievement, OCBC Bank was also honoured as "Bank of the Year" for Asia Pacific and Indonesia.

The award highlights OCBC Bank's significant growth in operating profit, income, and net interest margin, alongside its green initiatives, including efforts to help businesses decarbonise through the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation's carbon management platform. The Bank's commitment to social responsibility is also noted, with over 90% of its staff participating in volunteerism programmes.

OCBC's innovation in Islamic banking, including the launch of the US$175 million Islamic green financing facility and the Shariah-compliant OCBC eBiz Account-i, tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises, also earned praise. The bank has actively supported local businesses with over RM142 million in financing disbursed through its BizFinancing-i facility.
