Over the weekend, it was reported that the second richest person in the USA, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, will hold a Winter Wonderland themed wedding costing $0.6 billion with his fiancée Lauren Sanchez in Aspen, Colorado on Saturday, December 28.
In response to this news, hedge fund magnate Bill Ackman commented on social media, saying: "This is unbelievable. You cannot spend that much money unless you buy every guest at the wedding a house."
Bezos also denied this news, replying to Ackman's post: "The whole thing is completely false — none of this is happening."
Currently, the richest person in the world, Elon Musk, also expressed good wishes to his longtime rival on social media. Musk said that even if there is no wedding now, he hopes Bezos can hold an "epic wedding" in the future.
Musk stated: "It's a good thing to know that something epic is happening somewhere in the world, even if it isn't happening now. A world where amazing events occur somewhere is far better than a world where nothing happens."
Despite Bezos denying the rumors of a wedding in Aspen, he has not revealed when he plans to officially marry Sanchez. Since their engagement in May 2023, the 60-year-old Bezos and 55-year-old Sanchez have kept their wedding plans private.
"We are still considering the wedding," Sanchez said in an interview in November 2023.
"What will it be like? Will it be a grand wedding? Will it be held overseas? We still don't know. We just got engaged five months ago!" she said at the time.
