Our consolidated subsidiary, Fujitecika Miyazu Ltd. (Headquarters: Shizuoka Prefecture, Sunto County, President: Hiroshi Hasegawa, hereinafter "Fujitecika Miyazu"), has started developing press forming prediction technology for aluminum sheet materials used in automobile body panels in collaboration with UACJ Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda City, Tokyo, President: Shinji Tanaka, hereinafter "UACJ"). This technology enables the shortening of the design time for molds used for aluminum sheet materials, addressing challenges in the automotive industry, thereby aiming to contribute to achieving a Carbon Neutrality society through reduced energy consumption in mold manufacturing processes and lightweight vehicles.

Traditionally, in the press forming of aluminum sheet materials, which are difficult to ensure formability and dimensional accuracy, mold design through trial and error has been mainstream, leading to prolonged development periods and waste in the mold manufacturing process. This technology significantly enhances simulation accuracy and optimizes mold design. Consequently, it reduces energy consumption in the mold manufacturing process and contributes to the lightweighting of vehicles, thus improving fuel and electric efficiency while leading to reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Fujitecika Miyazu will leverage the know-how gained over many years in press forming and verification technology using actual machines to promote this project. By combining with UACJ's simulation technology, we aim to establish world-class press forming prediction technology and will put in every effort to accelerate the decarbonization of the automotive industry.

About Fujitecika Miyazu

Fujitecika Miyazu Ltd. became a member of the Toyo Steel Group, which is part of the comprehensive container manufacturer Toyo Seikan Group, in 2016. Since then, it has embarked on a new beginning under the corporate philosophy of "continuously creating new value and aspiring to realize a sustainable society, contributing to the happiness of humanity." Fujitecika Miyazu aims to evolve the field of press molds into innovative and attractive "manufacturing" by merging skilled press mold technology accumulated over 70 years since the era of the former Fujitecika and former Miyazu Manufacturing Plant with the latest IT technology.
Above all, each of us is devotedly facing mold-making to shape innovative and attractive automobile designs that make users want to "try riding" and "want to drive" together with customers around the world.
