Zhiyuan Financial APP learned that Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK.A.US, BRK.B.US) recently increased its shareholding in the Internet Plus-Related domain name registration service provider VeriSign (VRSN.US).
According to documents submitted by Berkshire Hathaway Inc. to the USA Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), its insurance subsidiary Geico and other Business pension plans purchased a total of 143,424 shares of VeriSign Stocks during the period from December 20 to this Tuesday, for a total amount of 28.5 million USD, with an average price of 199.05 USD per share. Among them, Geico added 14,921 shares, increasing its total holdings to 7,920,402 shares; the pension plans purchased 128,503 shares, raising their total holdings to 5,272,947 shares.
Currently, Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Holds a total of 13,193,349 shares of VeriSign Stocks, continuing to maintain its status as the largest Shareholder. Berkshire Hathaway Inc. has not yet responded to requests for comments regarding this stock increase.
As of 2024, VeriSign Stocks have remained flat, while the S&P 500 Index has risen 25% during the same period. In recent years, VeriSign's stock performance has also significantly lagged behind the Large Cap. Since the end of 2019, VeriSign's stock price has only increased by 6.6%, while the S&P 500 Index has surged 86% during the same period.
Earlier this month, Berkshire Hathaway Inc. also increased its shareholding in VeriSign Stocks, while also purchasing shares of Occidental Petroleum (OXY.US) and Satellite Broadcasting company Sirius XM Holdings (SIRI.US).
