Among the 11 industry sectors included in the S&P 500 index, the communications services sector performed well for two consecutive years. The increase in 2023 led all sectors, and continued to rank among the top this year. The IT sector and the non-essential consumer goods sector followed. The core companies in these three sectors were mainly tech giants.
