Elon Musk's X and Google, which operates the video streaming platform YouTube, have yet to apply for a social media license under a new law launched in Malaysia on Wednesday, according to Malaysia's internet regulator.
According to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission), X said that the number of its users in Malaysia has not reached the 8 million threshold required to obtain a license. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission is working to verify the platform's claims.
