Lynk & Co unveiled its new flagship hybrid SUV (sport utility vehicle) as it aims to achieve nearly 40 percent sales growth in 2025.
The Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) majority-owned brand debuted the Lynk & Co 900, its flagship plug-in hybrid SUV for the global market, in Shanghai today.
The large SUV is Lynk & Co's largest vehicle to date, measuring 5,240 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width and 1,810 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm.
It features the design language it calls The Next Day and is available in five exterior color options -- black, grey, blue, white and silver.
The six-seater SUV has of best-in-class interior space with class-leading headroom and legroom, said Lynk & Co.
The Lynk & Co 900 comes with silicon carbide-powered electric motors that enable it to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in less than five seconds, with a top speed of more than 200 km/h.
It has three powertrain options, with the most powerful variant powered by a 2.0T engine, as well as a front motor with a peak power of 123 kW and two rear motors both with a peak power of 160 kW.
The other two powertrains are both dual-motor, with one featuring a 2.0T engine, a front motor with 123 kW of peak power and a rear motor with 230 kW of peak power, and the other featuring a 1.5T engine, a front motor with 160 kW of peak power and a rear motor with 230 kW of peak power.
The infotainment system on the Lynk & Co 900 is powered by dual Qualcomm 8295 chipsets and the center screen has 6K resolution.
Pricing information for the model was not announced today.
It's expected to compete with other large SUVs, including BYD's (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) Denza N9 -- which is expected to be launched in the first quarter.
Lynk & Co was born in 2017 as a joint venture between Geely Auto and Volvo Cars.
On November 14, Zeekr announced a series of deals that would give it a 51 percent stake in Lynk & Co. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2025. Zeekr is one of many brands within the Geely Holding Group.
Lynk & Co initially focused on the production of gasoline vehicles. On September 6, 2024, it officially launched its first battery electric vehicle (BEV), the Z10 sedan, which is built on the same platform as the Zeekr 001.
On December 22, Lynk & Co launched the Z20, a compact SUV that is its second BEV model.
After announcing the integration of Lynk & Co, Zeekr hopes to become a new EV giant.
Zeekr aims to become a globalized premium luxury new energy vehicle (NEV) group with annual sales in the one million level through a two-year effort, its vice president, Lin Jinwen, said in a December 3 Weibo post.
On January 1, Geely unveiled its goal of selling 2.71 million vehicles in 2025, including 2 million under the Geely brand, 320,000 under the Zeekr brand and 390,000 under the Lynk & Co brand.
The target means Lynk & Co sales in 2025 would be up 36.63 percent from 285,441 units in 2024, and Zeekr sales would be up 44 percent from 222,123 units in 2024.
