日経平均は620円程度高、円安など背景に上値を試す場面も=7日前場

The Nikkei average is about 620 yen higher, with a backdrop of a weaker yen, testing higher levels in the market = 7 days ago.

At around 10:04 AM on the 7th, the Nikkei Average is fluctuating around 39,930 yen, up about 620 yen compared to the previous day. At 9:54 AM, it reached 40,058.63 yen, up 700.58 yen, recovering to the 40,000 yen mark for the first time since the year-end trading. On the 6th, the US stock market saw trading in Semiconductor-related stocks, with the Nasdaq Composite Index and SOX (Philadelphia Semiconductor Index) rising. Following this trend, Japanese stocks, particularly in the Semiconductor sector, also saw early buying. The weakening yen in the Foreign Exchange market and the rise in US stock index Futures during Extended hours trading have also supported attempts to test higher levels. The yen-denominated settlement value of the Chicago Nikkei Average Futures was 39,675 yen, up 335 yen compared to the settlement value on the Osaka Exchange on the 6th.

By industry, out of 33 sectors, 15 sectors gained and 18 sectors declined. Service stocks like Rakuten <4755.T> and Recruit Holdings <6098.T> and Electric Appliance stocks like Hitachi <6501.T> and Advantest <6857.T> rose. Bank stocks such as Mitsubishi UFJ <8306.T> and Sumitomo Mitsui <8316.T>, as well as Precision Instrument stocks like Terumo <4543.T> and Hoya <7741.T>, also increased. Securities product Futures stocks, such as Daiwa Securities Group <8601.T> and Nomura <8604.T>, and Machinery stocks such as SMC <6273.T> and Disco <6146.T> also performed well. Information and Communications stocks like NTT Data <9613.T> and SoftBank Group <9984.T>, as well as Pharmaceutical stocks like Eisai <4523.T> and Daiichi Sankyo <4568.T>, remained robust. On the other hand, Marine Shipping stocks like Mitsui O.S.K. Lines <9104.T> and Nippon Yusen <9101.T>, as well as Electric and Gas stocks like Chubu Electric <9502.T> and Kansai Electric <9503.T>, were weak.

Individually, Sun HD <4626.T>, KOKUSA <6525.T>, Micron <6871.T>, Asteria <3853.T>, and Tokyo Electron <8035.T> saw increases. In contrast, Azouone <7476.T>, GMO Internet <4784.T>, Miakoshi HD <6620.T>, Renova <9519.T>, and ACCESS <4813.T> experienced declines.

In the Tokyo Foreign Exchange market, as of 10:04 AM, the dollar-yen exchange rate is in the early 158 yen range (on the 6th it was 157.66–68 yen), while the euro-yen rate is in the early 164 yen range (it was 162.82–86 yen).
