The Asia-Pacific market showed mixed results, with Japanese stocks closing lower, Gold rising, and Bitcoin dropping over 1.5%.

The Nikkei 225 Index closed down 0.3%, at 39,981.06 points. The Tokyo Stock Exchange Index closed down 0.6%, at 2,770 points. The Seoul Composite Index in South Korea closed up 1.2%, at 2,521.05 points.

On Wednesday, January 8, the Asia-Pacific markets displayed mixed results, Japanese stocks fell while South Korea's composite index rose, with shares of technology giant Samsung Electronics increasing by 3.43%, and Gold prices rising.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated yesterday that quantum computing applications are still decades away, leading to a significant drop in related concept stocks in after-hours trading, with shares of IonQ and Quantum Computing experiencing declines of over 16% at one point.

The Nikkei 225 Index closed down 0.3%, at 39,981.06 points. The Tokyo Stock Exchange Index closed down 0.6%, at 2,770 points. The Seoul Composite Index in South Korea closed up 1.2%, at 2,521.05 points.

The Australian S&P 200 Index rose by 0.77%, while the S&P SENSEX30 Index in India fell by 0.88%.

The yield on German 10-Year Treasury Notes increased by 2 basis points to 2.51%, the highest level since July 2024.

Spot Gold increased by 0.17% during the day to reach $2,653.27 per ounce.

Bitcoin declined, with a drop of 1.51% during the day.

Both Brent oil and WTI oil have risen, with each increasing by more than 0.4%.
